It seems like Apple iPhone fans may not have to wait longer to get their hands on the upcoming iPhone 5s. Nowherelse.fr, a French blog has published a leaked internal memo from Japanese carrier KDDI revealing that the pre-orders for the iPhone 5s will begin on June 20 and is expected to release in early July. The memo also contains information about some specs like 13 MP main camera, etc.

June release of iPhone 5s was mentioned in the early rumors and seems to be plausible until new rumors of delays appear in the technology world.  Even the information from the technology giant suggests that the iPhone 5s would be out later. This has given a fire to all the rumors that the iPhone 5s will launch in the month of September followed by a cheaper, plastic iPhone a month later.

In the Apple earning call Tim Cook gave information that Apple won’t launch any new product until autumn.  In his information he said that “Our team workers are very hard working on some amazing new hardware, software and services that we can’t wait to introduce this fall and throughout 2014,”

While Cook said in his information that there will be nothing new launch of any product until September, then it does not mean that it is Apple’s choice. It can be rumors. Ming-chi Kuo reliable analyst of the KGI Securities thinks that the Apple will launch iPhone 5s after some time or late in the market because of the new technology.

Kuo thinks that the company can easily recover its all losses of the past if fingerprint reader works properly, while the company is also recovering its costs from the iOS 7 higher than expected. The result of this discussion is that the new iPhone will come in the market later in the year.

Not only Kuo is predicting a delay, other people also expect the delay. After visiting the Apple’s manufacturer in Asia, Peter Misek an analyst at Jefferies also said that he expects the delay of iPhone 5s.

Peter Misek got an advisory note of pre-production issues delay of mass production of the new smart phone. The exact problems aren’t detailed in the note, it seems as though the problems surround completing the mass production process for the new hardware of coming smartphone.

While the iPhone 5S being delayed is that much bad, Misek also states that the production delays will equally effect on the other iPhone products. It means there will be delay for the iPad 5, iPad Mini 2 and iPhone 6 which means we can’t see iPhone 6 before 2014.

But we are not sure that Apple can afford delay in its next products so it will do everything to meet its deadline. A recent report on The Wall Street Journal states that Foxconn, manufacturer of iPhone products is increasing staff rapidly in order to start work on iPhone 5s.

Foxconn also made a statement that they have assembled 10,000 workers since last week of March so as to ramp up the production of iPhone 5s.

Foxconn is also making its efforts to ramp up the production of iPhone 5s. They have been hiring 10,000 workers per week since last week of March in order to make sure that the smartphone gets launched timely. It is a significant investment in the people and the one that the company wouldn’t make if there will be delay in launch of iPhone 5s from Apple.

In the end, the only thing is clear to us is that the iPhone 5s will be s refresh to the iPhone 5 and the iPhone 6 will be a completely new model, most likely to be released in next year.

iphone_5s_june_releaseThe wait for the iPhone 5s will soon be over! A confidential presentation catalog describing about the new chargers and cases for the Apple iPhones along with Qi-enabled wireless chargers and dongles points to the July release of the iPhone 5s. The leaks such as these are obviously not certain when we talk about Shenzhen manufacturers but the manufacturer has an interesting inside track to Foxconn that adds certainty to the leak.

The manufacturer also has complete Apple certification and is currently working with Foxconn to release the device immediately.  The world of Apple news is full of different rumors about the iphone 5s release but this leak does claim a certain level of surety in the smartphone industry and strengthens rumors about the June launch of iPhone 5s. Also there is a certain lack of fear among the manufacturers as they approach a new CEO of Apple.

DigiTimes also reports that Apple’s supply chain will start shipping the components of iPhone 5s by the end of May which again gives credibility to the June launch of the device.

A report on CNET by Piper Jaffray’s Gene Master also claims that Apple will release iPhoen 5s in June 2013 and has predicted that the sales would go up by 15% from the 5 which would be around 30 million sales.

Well this is still dubious that the information is correct or not but it is some of the most convincing information that we have seen till the date relating to the new Apple releases.

It is also been said that the iPhone 5s will be available in (with contract) $199 for the 16 GB model, $299 for 32 GB model and $399 for 64 GB model.

The rumors about the Apple iPhone’s next iteration have gained momentum these days. It is now said that Apple has filed a new patent that suggests that its next iPhone whether it is iPhone 5s or iPhone 6 could include high quality video calls via FaceTime.

Apple’s new patent is all about a technology that is specifically aimed to improve the FaceTime cameras AE (Auto Exposure) in different lightening conditions. Video calling in current smartphones is generally poor because the lightening conditions changes rapidly and are variable. This is something that the current AE technology is trying to get rid of, especially when altering the visibility tiers very quickly or very slow.

iphone5sfacetime

This new technology will allow the smartphone’s Face-Time video camera to auto-focus right away even in the variable lightening conditions.

Electronic products having such smartphone video conferencing apps might be capable of adjusting coverage parameter figures steadily in order to minimize video clips moaning leading to pleasantly jarring outcomes on the device’s screen as a result of fast altering brightness stages, reported by PatentlyApple.

But fine-tuning the coverage parameters too slowly may cause the recording encoder to make erroneous temporary estimations which will result in low quality video-clip streaming over wide array of frames.

As per the flowchart, the technology functions by creating a ‘coverage metering region’ on the surface wherever you position camera at. The smartphone after that consistently ticks over checking whatever image it is recording comes with an AE function that is located inside the parameters of the coverage area.

Frames which get the all clear after meeting the parameters are then get processed and you can easily see them in the video call. If these frames are not clear, the phone quickly cycles back and repeats the process, get the all clear on meeting the parameters, adjust the settings accordingly to get a correct image.

Well this is going to be really exciting to see exactly what difference will it make to the end user’s experience. It also unknown whether Apple Inc. be improving the sensor technology as well as increase the mega-pixel rating of the front-facing MP camera in its upcoming smartphone.

In a recent update, DigiTimes asserted that Apple will be launching its next generation iPhone in the third Quarter this year. According to the sources in supply chain, Apple suppliers will be shipping the parts for the iteration of Apple iPhone 5 by the end of April or May and the device would be ready to release during the Q3 this year.  As already suspected, the handset won’t be a major upgrade but would just be a refresh of iPhone 5. It is expected that the iPhone 5s will have a slightly better camera and a better chipset on board.

iPhone 5s release

The technology giant releases a major upgrade every two years with a slightly improved device amid that. So there is no surprise in this as we all are familiar with the technology giant’s iPhone release cycle now.  This tradition has been followed by Apple since the company released the iPhone 3GS months after the launch of iPhone 3G with minor upgrades.

The release date of the iPhone 5s is not really surprising. As the iPhone 5 has made its debut last September, its successor is expected to launch around 12 months later.  Apart from the release date, the upcoming iPhone 5s is expected to be a cheaper iPhone, the device would sport a high-end processor, NFC, a better quality camera, etc. The handset is set to provide the component makers with approximately 30% increase in revenue in the Q2 this year.

Terry Gou, CEO of Foxconn has also claimed that the technology giant would see improvements in around April, but they declined when asked to comment on the iPhone rumors.

Apple’s upcoming smartphones iPhone 5s and iPhone 6 are some time away to get launched but we are already hearing a lot of speculations about the features for the next generation of the iPhone. In my previous mentions, I have reported that the upcoming iPhones might feature NFC, A7 chip, stylus and much more.  Adding to these, a new feature that is likely to be supported in the new iPhone 5s or iPhone 6 is the eye tracking and motion controls for the iOS. This will allow users to control the device without actually touching it. Apple’s biggest rival, Samsung has also just announced that they will be featuring Smart Scroll and Smart Pause features which work by detecting the movement of the eyes in its upcoming Galaxy S4.

It seems like eye tracking feature could also come in the iPhone 5s or iPhone 6 as Apple Inc. already owns numerous patents in context with eye tracking and motion control for the iPad and iPhone.

The New York Times Bits Blog claims that uMoove, the company having three years of expertise in delivering head and eye tracking to mobiles will offer the eye tracking feature to Apple and numerous other device makers. The company tells NY Times that the experience needs wide adoption to convince the developers to create support for motion and eye tracking control in numerous popular apps.

Though it is still unknown that whether the consumers will adapt to controlling a smartphone with their heads and eyes or not.  If the eye tracking is featured in the upcoming iPhone, then the users would be able to control the variable scrolling speed, zoom the screen, auto pause the video, do hands free control and selection, play live gaming and perform 360 degree navigation. This technology also works well with sunglasses, even in the dark and with eyes only.

Since Apple’s upcoming iPhone would just be a refresh than a major upgrade it is more likely that this technology will crown the iPhone 6. One thing that’s for sure is that the upcoming months are going to be really interesting seeing that more and more speculations for the iPhone 5s and 6 are gaining momentum. We will be keeping our eye on the news and speculations to keep our readers updated with what is actually cooking in the smartphone industry. So stay tuned for more updates!

Apple’s next flagship, that is rumored to be iPhone 5s, or iPhone 6 is expected to integrate a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor.

Detwiler Fenton claimed that Apple would be using the chip in order to integrate Wi-Fi and Bluetooth into the main chip. With this Apple could save a lot on expenses.

China Times also confirms that Apple has contacted TSMC in order to produce the Snapdragon chip with its 28-nanometer process rather than using Apple’s own A-series chip. The report by China Times also states that Apple is going to make low-cost iPhone 3G to save more on costs. There would be separate versions of Snapdragon; LTE or 3G, so Apple can choose the one which one can benefit the company the most. Here’s a translation of the snippet from the China Times article:

Supply Chain Industry revealed that Apple’s low-cost iPhone uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon single-chip, initially only support 3G without support for 4G LTE single-chip native support for WiFi and Bluetooth wireless networking capability, so do not need to increase the wireless network mode group. Of this chip commissioned TSMC foundry to 28 nm.

But the technology analysts at MacRumors believe that Apple will most probably be using older generation chips in the cheaper iPhone to save on costs. Inline to this, Ming Chi Kuo, the analyst at KGI Securities further states that Apple will be integrating the current A6 chip in the cheaper iPhone while using the more robust A7 chip in the iPhone 5 iteration.

Makotakara also mentioned in its report last month that the Cupertino Company has decided to launch a cheaper iPhone this year but later it changed its mind. It has also been mentioned that the smartphone will feature a polycarbonate body as the one found in the older plastic MacBook and will cost somewhere around $300 without contract.

Well all these are rumors, let’s see what Apple will actually provide in the new iPhones from its magic box.

Apple’s recent launch iPhone 5 has bought a new wave in the smartphone market especially for those who are crazy about the Apple products.  But now it’s too late to discuss about the features of iPhone 5 as there are rumors that Apple is going to launch the next generation iPhone very soon.  Though the launch of iPhone 5s is still months away but the rumor mill is flooded with lots of gossips about its feature and release.

Macotakara, a Japanese website has reported that Foxconn who is Apple’s official contractor has recently finished the test trials of the iPhone 5s and has already begun its production.

Another rumor that has recently surfaced the rumor mill is that the most-awaited iPhone will feature a stylus. As Apple is now following the Samsung way and planning to feature stylus in its next generation devices, will this lead to Samsung-Apple war again? This doesn’t seem like.

Ibtimes has reported that Apple Inc. has filed three new patents which indicate that the upcoming smartphones might enter the phablet category and will make use of an S-Pen stylus.

Apple patents

The Indentifiable Stylus mentioned in one of the patents will have the functionality to open the most used application in the handset. Also there’s an accelerometer which will help to turn on and off automatically in accordance to the movement.

Another patent filed by Apple suggest that handset can be turned into a scanner/camera that could read the bar codes via a touch sensitive ring around the pen.

The third stylus patent can be used to create a unique password in the device by making a specific motion gesture to the handset in order to ensure security.

The stylus could also be used to improve the touch and hovering capabilities of the handset and saves battery in panel devices.

Though the patents didn’t exactly reveal that which devices will sport stylus, but Apple fans could anticipate the inclusion of S-Pen stylus in the upcoming Apple devices.

Though Apple is still maintaining its silence about the reports but the cheaper iPhone rumor has become the hot topic amongst the technology analysts across the world.

Sticking to its secrecy policy, Apple Inc. has stayed away from commenting about the rumors even though cheap iPhone rumors are gaining momentum.

A recent update from Ming Chi Kuo, an analyst at KGI Securities has predicted that the Cupertino based Company will be going to launch two models, a dubbed iPhone 5s along with a low-cost version made of plastic and fiberglass. Apart from the housing components, people will be able to distinguish between smartphones using the high-tech internals.

The analyst also speculates that the device will also take advantage of numerous advanced technologies from Apple such as a faster A7 processor, dual LED flash that makes use of yellow or white LEDs for high-quality pictures along with a fingerprint security chip. It is also said that the iPhone 5 successor will salvage the same thin aluminum chassis but with a better battery power of 1600mAh.

iPhone Roadmap

Talking about the cheap model, Kuo believes that the model will be a bit heavier than mirror image body made up of aluminum metal and might include a hybrid casing made up of high quality plastic and fiberglass material. The gadget will normally sport LTE data as the price of the radio chipset is just negligible but can enhance the user’s experience as the icloud integration is used by Apple.

Since the device is likely be expensive as compared to other smartphones, the absence of LTE would make it hard to negotiate grants with different mobile carriers. He calculates that subsidies can make up for the entire cost of the gadget along with a 2 year contract, making the inexpensive iPhone an appealing option for under-developed smartphone markets such as China.

He is one among the first persons to claim that Apple Inc. will launch FDD-based handsets on a different schedule than TDD iterations mainly because the next installments of iPhones will be the company’s initial attempt to use the technology in the product.

This is really surprising that Kuo told AppleInsider that Cupertino giant won’t feature recently announced Qualcomm’s RF360 chipset which allows for support of LTE on 2G, 3G and 4G LTE technologies including the ones used in the mobiles made in China.

Kuo also notes that though the latest model of iphone will first time feature China mobile’s TDD networks but the compatible versions are not available until September due to the various phases of testing and network designing processes.

Being the world’s largest carrier, China Mobile’s TDD iPhone could capture 28% of iPhone supply for the latter half of the fiscal year 2013, rather than seeing a delayed launch in comparison with the worldwide LTE versions.  Tim Cook also had a meeting with the Chinese Telecom during his recent trip to China but meeting’s discussions are still kept confidential.

Apple Inc. is likely to launch two iPhones this year presumed as iPhone 5s and iPhone 6. Analysts and iPhone fanatics have already presumed about numerous iPhone 5s features which I have mentioned in my previous articles.

According to Peter Misek, analyst at Jefferies, Apple might not be able to launch a new iPhone with ground breaking features. He said that the actual plan is to launch an iPhone with a bigger screen display. The Cupertino giant’s screen suppliers are also making efforts in increasing the size of the iPhone screen from 4 inches to 4.8 inches.  He also concluded that Apple Inc. will launch a low-cost phone in mid of this year without any major upgrades.

This is further confirmed by Katy Huberty analyst at Morgan Stanley in a note to his clients about it, after having a meeting with Apple CFO Peter Oppenheimer.

He mentioned several signs that indicate a low cost iPhone:

a)      Apple’s customer base is increased with 50% of purchases for iPad Mini in Chinese and Brazilian markets representing new customers to the ecosystem.

b)      The Chinese clients show their desire in buying the latest model instead of the discounted older models.

c)       The increased demand of iPhone 4 surprised in the December quarter. Even at a low 40% discount margin and 1/3rd cannibalization rate, iPad Mini has led to increment to revenue and gross profit income.

Here are a few reasons why Apple should launch two new iPhones this year:

a)      Low-cost iPhone 5s to expand market share: The low-cost iPhone 5s will be reasonably priced which will cost somewhere around $199. However it is still not confirmed whether the aforementioned cost would be the actual cost of an unlocked iPhone 5s or will be the cost under the contract with carriers.
This low cost will surely draw a lot of consumers across the world mainly in the big markets including India and China and various other third world countries.

b)      Sleek iPhones: The iPhone 5s and iPhone 6 are expected to be lighter and thinner as compared to its predecessors. The low cost iPhone 5s will have a plastic body instead of aluminum casing making it lighter in weight.

c)       New improved features: Apple Inc. is expected to incorporate an improved camera in the new iPhones which is capable of taking Super HD pictures. To take that high-resolution pictures Apple will need to have at least 13 MP camera.
iPhone 5s is also alleged to sport contact-lens technology which can be used to purchase items in the stores. Other features that are expected to be included in the iPhone 5s is Retina display and A7 quad core chip processor.

d)      More options for consumers: The release of two iPhones will provide the consumers more options when buying devices similar to what iPad Mini did. This appears like Apple is trying to widen its target market.  Though there are many gadget lovers who would like to buy Apple devices but the expensive tag would encourage most consumers to go for the cheaper alternatives.

e)      iPhone 5s could save Apple: The launch of low-cost iPhone 5s could help save Apple from the current slump it is facing. The release of iPhone 5s might bring in lots of profits to Apple which will help the company to gain back its dominance in the market.

Hey Friends! I am back with another update on Apple’s upcoming iPhone 5s. Technology analysts have now presumed that Apple’s purported iPhone 5s will sport all new global LTE (Long Term Evolution) radio chip from Qualcomm that would solve the issue of 4G fragmentation.

A recent survey in the United States has also revealed that 4G LTE was the most missed feature in the iPhone 4S. Since then, this feature has become the key profit point for top-level smartphones as well as a describing feature for the current iPhone 5. Now it is possible that the upcoming iPhone 5s will be able to connect to distinct LTE networks across the world with this amazing piece of technology from Qualcomm.

A report by Expert Reviews suggests that Qualcomm has manufactured a single-chip system dubbed as RF360 Front-End Solution which includes the support for different 4G LTE bands across the world into a single package. The chip is compatible with eight mobile standards – CDMA, EDGE, GSM, EVDO, LTE-EDD, WMCDA, LTE-FDD and TD-SCDMA which will cover full range of 2G, 3G and 4G connectivity. This means that a phone equipped with this chip would be compatible with all the mobile networks across the world. The radio chip is also alleged to consume less battery power which means a boost to battery life.

There are strong chances that iPhone 5s will come with this new Qualcomm chip as for Apple, it will allow them to fabricate just one type of iPhone 5s for the whole world. At present, the Cupertino giant has to manufacture three variants for iPhone 5 which are aimed at three different countries to work with different LTE standards. This means that a phone bought in one country might not operate well in another or it might refuse to connect to a network’s high speed 4G-LTE network and connect to a slower 2G or 3G network. With the introduction of this new chip, Apple would now be able to streamline the production of its upcoming iPhone 5s. Using this chip will give the Apple Inc. another way to cut down their expenses and make the iPhone 5s more profitable.

Not only the technology giant, the new Qualcomm chip is also going to benefit the users as it will make the iPhone 5s to work as a global LTE smartphone. Though majority of the users won’t use this feature much, it would probably be hardware upgrade which Apple CEO Tim Cook will going to brag about when he releases the iPhone 5s most probably in the mid of this year.
